Latest Updates from Our Project:

Digital Dreadstar!
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Jul 16, 2019 at 06:13:51 PM

Today we will be delivering your digital version of the Dreadstar Omnibus volumes. Your digital copies can be accessed by using the code we’ve provided. You’ll find the code in your download instructions.  If you do not receive an email, please check your spam folder.   Please be aware these are large files, and will take some time to download.

Physical rewards are in the process of being prepared and packed for shipping. Rewards and stretch goals, including comics, prints and stickers have all been printed. Physical copies of Volume 1 are in house and ready, while Volumes 2 and 3, as well as the slipcase, are literally being printed overseas this week. Once the shipment arrives at our facility in the Buffalo area, we will fulfill orders that include Volumes 2 and 3.

We will also be mounting separate Kickstarter campaigns for Volumes 2 and 3 in the near future, including brand new rewards, exclusives, and stretch goals. We’ll be back in touch soon with another update!

Surveys On the Way!
almost 5 years ago – Wed, Jun 05, 2019 at 12:44:15 AM

It’s that time! Backerkit surveys have officially been sent out! Let’s take a look at some notable features you may have questions about.

First, it is paramount that you fill out these surveys. Without the information, we cannot ship your items to you. If you do not receive your survey via email, remember to check your spam folders.

As promised, several items from the campaign have been included and may be purchased as add-ons. This includes the variant covers, the 1:6 scale statue, digital copies of all three books, and more!

You will be charged shipping for all of your items at the time of completing your survey. Please note that we’ve included an option for folks who pledged for all three volumes which allows you to have shipping delayed until we are able to ship all three volumes together. This is especially meaningful for international backers, as it means that you may only need to pay duty fees on your rewards one time, rather than pay the fee for separate packages.

With that in mind, an update about Volumes 2 and 3: final proofreading revisions have been made, and the design of both volumes is nearly complete, which means we’re about to send them off to press! Our printer’s schedule indicates that we should be receiving the books (and slipcase) at our facility sometime in September. Once that happens, we’ll begin fulfillment for all backers who pledged for all three volumes at once.

As always, thanks so much for your support and your patience. We’re humbled to have such amazing backers.

Shipping Questions
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Jun 04, 2019 at 10:49:27 PM

We’ve had some questions and comments on shipping now that the Backerkit surveys have gone out. Hopefully we can clear up any concerns with this update.

Please note that the campaign clearly indicated that shipping would be collected via pledge manager after the campaign closes. All rates include both shipping and handling charges. As these are large books printed on heavy stock, each copy of the Dreadstar Omnibus weighs roughly three pounds. The three-volume set with slipcase weighs roughly ten pounds. The largest packages (multiple books, statue, etc.) can weigh 18 to 20 pounds.

Considering packing material, these will be relatively heavy packages. Anything over four pounds cannot be sent via USPS First Class International, increasing international shipping costs. Our shipping method provides for an expedited delivery time of six to ten business days in most cases. As the campaign page indicated, “Shipping costs may increase due to circumstances beyond our control, or via the addition of extra copies and items. The totals provided below are estimates and not final quotes.”

Please understand that our shipping costs are not a profit-making endeavor. We seek to provide the most cost-effective, safest shipping method possible, with your items packed as securely as possible.

As always, please contact us with any specific questions you might have. We’re getting the fulfillment process rolling, and shipping will commence as soon as we have the bulk of the surveys returned. Thanks again for your support.

Survey Says?
almost 5 years ago – Thu, May 23, 2019 at 03:06:11 PM

Since we announced that your BackerKit surveys would be coming early this week, you might be wondering where they are. Well, we’re here to tell you!

Our fulfillment team is hard at work building the surveys now, ensuring that all of your shipping costs are as accurate, and as low, as they can be. That process is nearly complete. From there, BackerKit will need to review and approve the surveys before we can send them out, a process that usually takes a few days.

Assuming all goes according to plan, we expect to be sending out surveys by the latter half of next week. As always, we’ll keep you informed as things progress.

Thank You!

All of us, especially Jim Starlin, are forever grateful for your support of this campaign. Obviously, Dreadstar is a project near and dear to Jim, and all of us who worked on the omnibus volumes and campaign are thrilled at the response. The campaign ended at $104,225, which is 434% of our initial finding goal. A total of 620 backers pledged, and unlocked all of our stretch goals. Again, thank you so much!

We do have a pre-order site for anyone that missed out, featuring all the items from the campaign:  https://thanos-creator-jim-starlins-dreadstar-omnibus.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

Early next week, we'll be sending out BackerKit surveys, so we can begin the fulfillment process. We're as anxious to get these books into your hands as you are to receive them. In the coming months, we'll be back with another campaign for the ensuing volumes of the series, including some brand new, exciting rewards. There's more Dreadstar to come!
