Latest Updates from Our Project:

The Captains Marvel
about 5 years ago – Thu, Apr 18, 2019 at 01:31:36 PM

Plowing through stretch goals almost before we can announce what they are is a rare but good problem to have.

As you can see by our dazzling graphic, we’ve added some new prints for all backers who have pledged at a physical reward tier. Unlocked now is the Jim Starlin print featuring Shazam, with DC’s favorite Captain Marvel soaring through space in heroic fashion.

To be unlocked next, at $60K, is this gorgeous, classic Captain Marvel (that other one) by Jim Starlin. Jim has a long-standing love affair with Mar-Vell, so we thought it only fitting to include one of his signature characters.

There are plenty of stretch goals left to unlock, as this campaign is really just getting started. For those of you who are digital-only backers, we haven’t forgotten you. All we can say as of now is keep your eyes peeled for a stretch goal just for you.

We’ll be back in the morning with more from Jim Starlin’s Dreadstar

Reach for the Starlins!
about 5 years ago – Thu, Apr 18, 2019 at 07:36:48 AM

Good morning from Byfrexia! This morning, let’s dive in a bit closer to some of the rewards being offered on the Jim Starlin’s Dreadstar campaign.

You’ll notice that a few different reward tiers offer some pretty wonderful variants. As part of the campaign, Jim Starlin has remastered each page in his Dreadstar opus. This has given us the opportunity to release Dreadstar #1, the first issue in the Epic Comics series, as you’ve never seen it before. Because this issue is so special to us, we reached out to some of the most talented artists we know to create highly-collectible, limited-run variant covers. The result is Jim Starlin’s Dreadstar #1: Legacy Edition

These Legacy Edition variants feature the work of Bart Sears, Andy Smith, Joe Staton, Patrick Zircher, and Chris Burnham, and can be pledged for individually, as a set, or as part of our $175 and $725 reward tiers respectively. If there are any copies remaining in the limited-to-100 runs, those will also be available as add-ons after the campaign has closed.

Yesterday evening, shortly after posting our update, we broke the $50K threshold, which means that all backers who pledged for a physical reward will be getting this comic-sized Thanos art print!

Additionally, all backers who have backed at the Starlin Creations Art Portfolio tier will get one random print from their package signed by Jim Starlin himself!

We’ll be back this evening with even more epic news from Jim Starlin’s Dreadstar.

Our Campaign: Remastered
about 5 years ago – Wed, Apr 17, 2019 at 01:25:25 PM

We have been busy listening to your comments, emails, and direct messages. We’re thrilled to have such a vibrant community, and we are taking your words to heart.

Let’s talk about all of the changes that were made to the campaign today.

Stretch Goals: We have added stretch goals to the campaign, some of which have already been unlocked! We are pleased to tell you that all backers who pledged for a physical reward will receive our Dreadstar logo stickers and Dreadstar bookmarks, so that you’ll never lose your way in the 512-page odyssey in Volume 1. Next up, upon reaching $50K, a comic-sized Thanos art print will be unlocked for all backers who have pledged for a physical reward. Also at the $50K stretch, backers of the Starlin Creations Print Set will have one of the prints in their set randomly signed by Jim Starlin

A New Early Bird Tier: Since the original Dreadstar Omnibus Collection early bird tier sold out so quickly, we’ve brought it back by popular demand at a price of $225. If you were one of the few backers who pledged the $250 full price for the set, not to worry, we’ll be adding $25 in credit to your BackerKit accounts and honoring the new deal. This new early bird tier is limited to just 100 backers, so you’ll want to tell your friends!

That’s all the news for today! We hope you all enjoy the new rewards and new opportunities to get cool stuff! We’ll be back tomorrow with even more epic reveals. Again, we thank you all for your support, and we ask that you share our campaign with everyone you know! http://bit.ly/DSKS2019

What a Day!
about 5 years ago – Wed, Apr 17, 2019 at 06:56:41 AM

We’re all ecstatic with what we accomplished together in the first 24 hours of the Dreadstar campaign! In the first 24 hours of the campaign, we blew past our funding goal with almost $44,000 pledged by more than 300 backers. You really want your Dreadstar! Again, thank you all for your support.

Of course, a sensational first day means we still have 29 days to go on this campaign, and we’re going to make every one of them count. We’ll have daily updates, reveals, announcements of stretch goals, and even commentary from Jim Starlin himself.

Please help us spread the word about this campaign via your social media. We want dedicated Starlin fans to get their hands on Dreadstar as it was always meant to be, and we want fans who haven’t discovered Dreadstar yet to join us. Here’s a handy link you can share: http://bit.ly/DSKS2019

Thanks again for the amazing support! Together we’re going to make this a campaign to remember!

Amazing! We are so thankful for the tremendous response to Jim Starlin’s Dreadstar Omnibus! We reached our initial finding goal in less than 12 hours, and we are powering onward!

We’ll be adding stretch goals very shortly, to enable our backers to access more rewards and more Starlin goodness! This is just the beginning for Dreadstar and Ominous Press, so stay tuned!
