Good morning, backers! The team at Ominous Press has put together these awesome Dreadstar T-shirts, featuring new Jim Starlin art!
We’ve received some questions and comments about the availability of these shirts, and as promised in an earlier update, they will be available as an add-on to the campaign. Because of limited size quantities, these shirts will only be available through the BackerKit surveys that go out after the campaign has concluded, and will be claimed on a first-come-first-served basis.
Thanks to everyone for your comments and your support. Soon enough, you’ll be able to look as cool as Jim Starlin!

Good evening! As promised, we have added yet another Dreadstar #1 Legacy Variant!
For a pledge of just $10, you can take home this wonderful variant cover by Jim Starlin himself! The cover image, of course, was created for Dreadstar Omnibus Volume 1, so we’re featuring the black-and-white Dreadstar figure from Jim’s original artwork. This Dreadstar #1 Legacy Variant, reprinting the landmark Dreadstar #1, is limited to just 500 copies.
You can claim yours now for a $10 pledge! If you’ve already backed the campaign, you can add on this variant like any other item, by increasing your pledge by $10 and sending an email with your add-on request to [email protected].

As we may have mentioned a few times, Jim Starlin visited the Sleeping Giant headquarters this weekend for Free Comic Book Day. While Jim was with us, we managed to sneak him away to record a special message to our backers.

Our friends at Sleeping Giant had a hugely successful Free Comic Book Day signing with Dreadstar creator Jim Starlin this past Saturday, with plenty of Dreadstar goodness! A special Legacy Edition of Dreadstar #1 featuring an exclusive black-and-white cover by Jim Starlin was available, as well as a new Dreadstar T-shirt. We'll be adding both of those limited items to our campaign, both as pledge levels and as add-ons, in the coming days, so keep an eye out.
The day was capped by Jim Starlin introducing a screening of Avengers: Endgame at Buffalo's beautiful North Park Theatre, followed by a Q & A in front of a rapt audience.
Thanos was the star of the evening, of course. Did you ever wonder how Thanos and Vanth might match up in a titanic tussle? We have too. Stay tuned...

Thanks to your amazing support, we have blasted through the $85,000 stretch goal, meaning every physical backer will get a print featuring the new artwork Jim Starlin created for the slipcase that will contain all three volumes of the Dreadstar Omnibus.
Next up is the big one: the $100,000 stretch goal for every physical copy of Volume 1 of the Dreadstar Omnibus to come with a bookplate hand-signed by Jim Starlin! We have 10 days left to put us over the stretch goal, and unlock this very special reward, so let's make it happen!
