Hello, backers! We hope you’re all enjoying the weekend! This morning, let’s take a closer look at the Dreadstar #1 Legacy Edition Andy Smith Variant!
This gorgeous cover featuring a stoic Vanth Dreadstar and the cybernetic telepath Willow can be yours for a pledge of $20! For those of you who have already pledged, you can still add the Andy Smith variant to any pledge by increasing your pledge by $20, and emailing us at [email protected] with the request to add-on. As with the rest of our variants, should there be any copies remaining from the limited run of 100, those copies will be available to add-on through BackerKit while you’re filling out your surveys.

As you may have heard, Avengers: Endgame has officially been released, and people are going wild! So wild, in fact, that Thursday night box office sales topped a record-breaking $60 million!
We know that some of you have already seen what fate has befallen The Avengers, but did you happen to notice Jim Starlin’s cameo? If you missed it, you’re going to have to go and see the movie a second time!
You’re in luck, as we’ve mentioned before, our friends at Sleeping Giant are hosting a special screening with Jim Starlin at the Northpark Theatre in Buffalo, NY following Sleeping Giant’s Free Comic Book Day events. You can catch Jim Starlin’s cameo with Jim himself in attendance to introduce the movie! A poster featuring Starlin’s incredible Thanos imagery will also be available. Good morning! Let’s take a look at the Jim Starlin Creations Art Print Set.
This eight print set features some of Jim Starlin’s most famous creations, including Thanos, Mongul, Dreadstar, Drax, Gamora, and more! Each print measures 7 inches by 9.5 inches and would look wonderful in a frame. Good morning, everyone! A new variant has been added to the campaign!
For a pledge of $25, this gorgeous Dreadstar #1 Legacy Edition variant by legendary artist George Perez can be yours! If you’ve already backed to the campaign, no worries, you can always add it on to any original pledge! Simply increase your pledge by $25 and send an email to [email protected] to let us know that you’d like to add it on. This variant will of course also be included in the BackerKit add-on section after the campaign has concluded should there be any copies left.
Remember, George Perez recently announced his retirement, so there won’t be many more opportunities like this!
Cooking Up Bookplates

Good evening, backers! How about a look at the bookplate design?
The design is not yet finalized, but features the one and only Aknaton as painted by Jim Starlin. If our stretch goal of $100K is reached, all backers who pledged for a physical reward will get one of these in their book, hand signed by Jim himself!
Lastly, we have a quick correction to make. In our morning update, we noted that the time of the Avengers: Endgame screening with Jim Starlin would be 7 p.m. This is incorrect. The screening will now be starting at 8 p.m. We hope you can make it out!
