For those of you local to the Buffalo, NY area, or those of you who love to travel, we have some most excellent news!

Jim Starlin will be joining the hard working people of Sleeping Giant for an epic Free Comic Book Day celebration. Events kick off May 4 at 10:00am in the downstairs gymnasium of the Sleeping Giant offices located at 80 Clinton St. in Tonawanda, NY. There will be loads of amazing collectibles available from Sleeping Giant, including their landmark Infinity Editions and Jim will be on-hand signing until the event concludes at 4:00pm.

Following the event will be a screening of Avengers: Endgame at the Northpark Theater in Buffalo. This is an amazing chance to catch Marvel’s latest blockbuster with the creator of The Mad Titan Thanos himself! More details on the screening event to be announced!

The Weekend Rundown
about 5 years ago – Sat, Apr 20, 2019 at 06:14:40 AM

It’s Saturday! While you enjoy your restful weekend plans, let’s take a closer look at some of our rewards.

The 1:6 Scale Dreadstar Statue: Sculptor Paul Harding has some expertise when it comes to creating memorable and dynamic toys, action figures, and statues just like this one.

Paul’s work spans a tremendous breadth of properties from companies like DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Gentle Giant, and NBC. His designs are first class, and have earned him a number of accolades, including the International Toy News 2018 Sculptor of the Year Award. We’re thrilled to have Paul on board, and we think you’ll agree that this incredible Dreadstar statue speaks for itself.

The 1:6 scale Dreadstar statue can be claimed at both our $400 and $725 levels and is scheduled to be released in April of 2020.

More to come this evening!

We’ve also revealed the $65K stretch goal! Once unlocked, ALL BACKERS, whether digital or physical, will be receiving a PDF copy of Black Book Slim: The Art of Jim Starlin. This miniature version of Black Book: The Art of Jim Starlin features a hand-picked selection of Jim’s Dreadstar rarities and lesser known images and makes the perfect companion to the Dreadstar omnibus collection.

Dreadstar Gallery and Other Assorted Affairs
about 5 years ago – Fri, Apr 19, 2019 at 06:38:05 AM

Good morning, Starlinites!

As some of you may have noticed, the campaign has yet again grown in size. We’ve added a fair amount of new content for your viewing pleasure.

Dreadstar Gallery: Toward the bottom of the campaign, we have added some key covers and pages from Jim Starlin’s cosmic epic. We plan to rotate pages in and out of this gallery, but all pages you see will be contained within Dreadstar Omnibus Volume 1. We think these remastered pages look great, and we’re thrilled to be showing them off. Here’s a preview below, but larger versions can be viewed on the campaign.

The Other Side of the Bookmark: What good is a flashy bookmark with only one side? Your support has already unlocked the bookmark stretch reward. We revealed one side of the bookmark already, now here’s the other, an epic illustration of Vanth Dreadstar wielding his sword of power. Perfect for keeping your place in a 500-page tome!

Check back this evening for another update from Dreadstar HQ!
