Included in Jim Starlin’s Dreadstar Omnibus Volume 1 are the first eight issues of the classic Dreadstar series, originally released by Marvel’s Epic imprint. Let’s take a look at issue #1.

Dreadstar #1 introduces the audience to Oedi the Catman, a refugee caught in an endless war between The Monarchy and The Church of Instrumentality. Oedi’s narrative weaves together the origin of Vanth Dreadstar and the conflicts that rage through the classic Dreadstar series.

You can get your hands on this legendary first issue by pledging to any tier that includes Dreadstar Omnibus Volume 1, or any of the exclusive Dreadstar Legacy Edition variant reward tiers.

The Metamorphosis Odyssey

Jim Starlin’s Dreadstar Omnibus Volume 1 collects over 500 pages of classic Vanth Dreadstar goodness including, of course, Metamorphosis Odyssey.

Metamorphosis Odyssey is a story told in several parts, following the immortal mystic Aknaton as he explores the Milky Way to put a plan in motion that will destroy the evil Zygotians. The result is the epic foundation of Jim Starlin’s Dreadstar universe.

As a preview of what’s to come, please enjoy the first five pages of the historic Metamorphosis Odyssey, which are included in Dreadstar Omnibus Volume 1

The Future Is Now

Good morning, cosmic comrades! Today, we’ve prepared something a little different for you.

Our friends at Future Cyborg have put together a stellar campaign to help fund the third season of their cult toy review show. Set in the neon ‘80s, Future Cyborg is a nostalgia-fueled look at some of the greatest toys of the era, mixed with a helping of dark comedy, and a dash of sardonic wit.

They’re offering tons of amazing rewards on their Indiegogo campaign, which you can find right here: http://bit.ly/FutureCyborg

You may remember that Future Cyborg creator Paul Harding is the genius sculptor behind the gorgeous 1:6 scale Dreadstar statue.

This beautiful, collectible statue can be claimed at both our $400 and $725 levels, and makes the perfect addition to any Dreadstar lover’s shelf!

You can meet Paul Harding in person this Saturday at Sleeping Giant’s Free Comic Book Day signing event featuring Jim Starlin!

Ominous Press Editor-in-Chief Ron Marz will be in attendance as well, so be sure to bring plenty of things to be signed!
